Vespa sprint veloce 150 not registered
Beschreibung
Piaggio Vespa sprint veloce 150cc produced in the early 1970's imported from Italy a decade ago this is not a Far East import. It was given a Mechanical restoration and then put in a barn and forgotten about until a few months back when I found it and bought it.
Firstly: No v5 logbook, needs registering but it's tricky as even though the serial numbers are there the frame numbers have rusted away and no matter how hard I try they cannot be read - this is quite normal for old Vespas as the factory stamped the serial/model letters and numbers before paint however the individual frame number was stamped after paint leaving it susceptible to rust. Could be used as a replacement for your rotten scooter or give it a Q plate. The frame numbers have not been tampered with in any way it is what it is.
If you are still interested the scooter is in original paint apart from the side panels which are brand new SIP pressed panels that have been professionally colour matched, painted in 2k and then patina'd - this cost £320 and I have some of the paint left for the new owner.
The underneath is solid and has been totally stone chipped to preserve it. It's had a small plate let into the frame behind mudguard where they all rust and a few small splits to the metal welded up by a professional vehicle restorer and cost £250.
There is no filler in this scooter its all metal and its strong and one of the best original paint Vespas I have seen bring a magnet and dig around all you like you won't find anything to worry about. It's very straight and rides true.
Please expect a few dents and scratches and light cosmetic rust. The metal has been oiled to protect it, if no one buys it I will get it lacquered - it would be a real shame to repaint it so if that's your plan I would rather you don't buy it.
It appears to have had new cables, engine bushes, engine rebuild, all lights, gears and brakes work very and the engine pulls strong. It will pass an mot.
This is a very nice scooter and will be worth over £2000 when registered and so much better than a tarted up Far East restored Vespa. Collection from chessington south London/Surrey or I could deliver as I have a van. Now Priced to sell no offers.
